New Cupertino Office Focused on Neuro-Inclusive Design: A Visionary Initiative by Growing Minds Mental Health Services
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – [November 25, 2025] – Growing Minds Mental Health Services today announced a major step forward in its commitment to holistic well-being and diversity with the planned opening of a new, 2,000+ square foot office. The facility will be a groundbreaking collaborative project, a Cupertino Office focused on neuro-inclusive design and environment for both clients and staff.
Unlike traditional office spaces, the new Growing Minds facility is being intentionally designed to accommodate a diverse range of neurological profiles, including but not limited to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, anxiety, and sensory sensitivities. The goal is to maximize comfort, minimize sensory overload, and support focus, creativity, and overall mental health for everyone who uses the space.
“Our mission is to support every mind, and that commitment must start with our physical environment. The move to Cupertino is not just about growth; it’s about leading the industry in a human-centered approach to space design. We believe that by designing for the most sensitive among us, we create a better, more supportive environment for all employees and clients,” says Dr. Yang Xu, Founder and Medical Director at Growing Minds Mental Health Services
Growing Minds is actively seeking community input to ensure the design reflects a broad range of experiences and expertise. The organization is launching an open call for individuals from all backgrounds—including architects, designers, occupational therapists, neurodivergent individuals, and other interested members of the community—to share their ideas and insights for the project. Key design elements under consideration include:
- Sensory Zoning: Creating distinct areas for high-focus, quiet reflection, and active collaboration.
- Controllable Elements: Incorporating adjustable lighting, temperature, and acoustic controls in various spaces.
- Biophilic Design: Integrating natural light, plants, and natural textures to promote calm and well-being.
- Clear Wayfinding: Utilizing intuitive and uncluttered layouts to reduce cognitive load and anxiety.
“True neuro-inclusion can only be achieved through collaboration. We are eager to hear from people who have lived experience or specialized knowledge to help us implement the best practices for a space that is truly therapeutic and productive,” says Dr. Yang Xu.
This expansion is poised to strengthen Growing Minds’ presence in the Bay Area and serve as a model for future mental health facilities and modern workplaces globally.
